What’s all the Chatter – The Law of Correspondence

We all have an inner-voice.  Those voices in our head we hear.  I even joke about my inner voice. “That must of been my inside voice.”

The Law of Correspondence basically says that our current reality is a mirror of what is going on inside our heads.  All that self-talk, those dominant thoughts result in our reality.

So, If you’re unhappy on the outside, you’re hosting unhappy thoughts inside. The danger of unhappy thoughts is they can be a self-perpetuating prophecy. The other danger is many of these thoughts happen all day long and we either don’t realize they are happening or feed into their process.

Here’s what I mean…

When we start to feel unhappy on the inside, our perception of the outer world starts to look and notice all the unhappy things in the world.  It’s like when people say, “I eat because I’m unhappy and I’m unhappy because I eat.” It all ends up having a direct impact on our reality.

So how do we change this?

By understanding and using the Law of Correspondence.

Let’s start by understanding, that ever “Self Help Course” is about changing you from the inside.  The reason is no matter how much you change the outside, if you haven’t changed your core internal thought process, nothing will ever change.

So, In order to change our outer world, we must first take look in the mirror and change our inner world.  Our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and self-talk.

There are many things we don’t have control over in our lives, but we do have total control over our thinking.  The only way to get what we truly desire in life is to change our thinking.

Why Change our Thinking?

…When it is much easier to blame someone or something else for what is wrong in our lives,  rather than accept the responsibility!

I understand changing your thought process is hard, but it’s possible and very empowering.  Here are three things you can do to make that mind move.

  • Take a hard look at yourself – seriously, take a long, hard look.  Look at everything happening your life, your career, relationships, health and financial situation. Ok, now let’s say that your financial situation is in dire straights or not exactly where you want it to be, here’s what you need to do…  Ask yourself this questions… “How are my thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and self-talk supporting this situation in my life ?”

What are my beliefs about Money?”

“Where did these thoughts come from?”

Why do I think this way?”

“Are these thoughts a Universal Truth or a belief I’ve thought was true”

(Hint – there is a 99.9% chance it’s not going to be a Univeral Truth!)

Once You start to see most of what you think are beliefs you can change. Your outer world will start to reflect your new beliefs.

  • Take full responsibility for whatever is happening in your life.  Here is where the rubber hits the road. Taking responsibility for the good things is easy, but take responsibility for the bad things is someone in control of their life. You can start doing this today.
  • Imagine the life you want.  Visualize the life you desire.  Are your thoughts the thoughts that will make the image come true?  Do they connect?

So when you really want to take control of your life look to the Law of Correspondence and apply it in your life.

The bottom line is, by changing your thoughts, you will change your life!
